Do I need to lose weight before my Maryland boudoir session?
No. Your body as it exists right now is worth documenting. The women who come in most convinced their body isn't ready often leave the most stunned at their reveal, because they had no idea what they actually looked like when someone was really paying attention. One client had undergone a double mastectomy and 13 surgeries over three and a half years. When she saw her photographs, she fell completely silent. She told me until she saw the images she would not have thought about liking her body. That is why this work exists.
Can plus size women do boudoir photography in Maryland?

The session fee is $550 and includes professional hair and makeup, your consultation call, guided posing, same-day reveal, and retouching of all purchased images. Is hair and makeup included in a Maryland boudoir session?
Yes. Professional hair and makeup is included in every Maryland boudoir session at Nicole Griffin Photography. Your session starts at 10 a.m. and those first two hours are built in intentionally so you have time to settle in before the camera comes out.
What should I wear to my Maryland boudoir session?
Every client, regardless of size or body type, should have at least one bodysuit as a starting point. That's the non-negotiable. Everything else gets built around your personality and what makes you feel like yourself. Lingerie, oversized button-downs, robes, and pieces you already own can all photograph beautifully. Fitted photographs better than loose and baggy, at every size. Colors that photograph well across all skin tones: jewel tones, deep burgundy, emerald, and garnet. Black is always reliable. We go through all of this together on your consultation call.
Are my boudoir photos private and confidential?
Yes. Your images belong to you. Nicole Griffin Photography never shares client images publicly without written permission, not on social media, not on this website, nowhere. This is a single-client studio. A lot of Maryland boudoir clients here are professionals, government employees, healthcare workers, attorneys, and executives, whose privacy matters deeply. The only person who ever sees your session is me, unless you choose otherwise.
What if I'm nervous the whole time?
Then you're nervous, and that's okay. Every single client walks in nervous, including women on their second and third sessions. Most say the nerves are mostly gone within the first 30 minutes. The session is structured so there's always something to focus on, which tends to be more effective than trying to talk yourself out of being anxious.
How long does a Maryland boudoir session take?
Hair and makeup takes approximately two hours. The shoot runs about 90 minutes. Your same-day reveal takes place a few hours after. Plan to keep the full day open. The poses that look effortless take real physical effort, so by the end your back should be a little tired. That's how you know it worked.
Do you photograph Black women and women of color in Maryland?
Yes, intentionally. Nicole Griffin Photography was built with Black women and women of color as a priority from the beginning, not as an addition. That means knowing how to light and edit for darker skin tones, and understanding the specific ways society projects onto Black women's bodies simultaneously being told they're too much and not enough.
