If you've been telling yourself you'll do it when you feel ready, I'm going to stop you right there. Ready isn't something you feel before a boudoir session. It's something that happens inside one.

Most women who book with me have never done anything like this before. They come in overthinking, in their heads, quietly convinced they're going to be the exception who doesn't photograph well. I hear it in every consultation.
What actually happens is different. You walk into Nicole Griffin Photography's private Baltimore boudoir studio where it's just you and me. Music is playing. The lighting is already set. I'm directing everything in real time, what to do with your hands, how to position your body, where to look, when to breathe. There is always something for you to focus on, and that's intentional.
When you have something to focus on, you stop being in your head and start being in the moment. By the time most women are an hour in, they're moving differently. Shoulders back. Head up. Taking up space in a way they forgot they could.
I've watched it happen too many times to count. It still doesn't get old.
"I guide you through everything in real time. What to do with your hands, how to arch, where to look. When to breathe and how to move."
I've worked with women in Baltimore and surrounding areas for all kinds of reasons, and most of them don't fit the idea of what you think a boudoir client looks like.
Healthcare workers from UMMC and Johns Hopkins who spend every shift pouring into other people and can't remember the last time they did something purely for themselves. Women going through major life transitions, a milestone birthday, a health journey, a relationship that tried to convince them they were too much or not enough.
Moms who look in the mirror and don't recognize themselves anymore. Women who have never in their lives felt comfortable in their own body and booked because they were tired of feeling that way.
I don't care what size you are. I've worked with women who wear a size 0 and women who wear a size 32. Women who carry scars. Bodies that have been through things. All of it belongs in this studio. The rolls, the dimples, the stretch marks, that's not something we work around. That's part of what we celebrate.
Every part of this process is designed so you don't have to figure anything out on your own. Here's exactly what happens from the moment you inquire to the moment you see yourself.
Once you inquire, we schedule a consultation call to talk through your vision, your concerns, what you want to feel, and what you want to walk away with. This is where we figure out outfit direction and what's going to make this feel like you.
I also walk you through mental prep. I encourage every client to spend time in front of the mirror saying five things they love about their body, every single day leading up to their session. It changes the internal channel you're running on when you walk through my door.
Sessions start at 10 a.m. with professional hair and makeup, included in your session fee. You don't show up camera-ready. That's what we're here for.
From there, I demonstrate every pose and adjust you in real time. I refine the small details, the angle of your chin, the placement of your hands, the direction of your eyes. You're never left wondering if you're doing it right. Sessions run approximately 90 minutes.
A few hours after your session, you sit down and see your images for the first time. I build your slideshow in advance so it plays as a full presentation, not a thumbnail scroll.
That moment, when the music plays and you're watching yourself on screen, is the one most clients say they weren't prepared for. In a good way. From there we build your collection together. Everything is chosen same day.
Albums, wall art, and digital images that give you something tangible to hold onto, not something that gets lost in your camera roll. Your images are something you come back to. Because they show you what you've been missing when you look at yourself every day.
Products are ordered at your reveal. Delivery takes approximately 6 to 8 weeks and I'll bring them to you in person.

Once in a lifetime
Boudoir is not just some sexy photos. It's an experience. After professional hair and makeup you get to model your gorgeous self.
Every client, regardless of size or body type, should have at least one bodysuit. That's my non-negotiable starting point. Everything else is built around your personality and what makes you feel like yourself.
Lingerie works. So does an oversized button-down with nothing underneath. So does your partner's jersey. So does a silk robe. Fitted always photographs better than loose and baggy, at every size.
Colors that photograph beautifully across skin tones: jewel tones, deep burgundy, emerald, garnet, navy. Black is always reliable. Warm neutrals look gorgeous on deeper skin tones.
If you're not sure where to shop, I send every client a curated, size-inclusive retailer list after we book, Yandy, Savage Fenty, and Lounge are solid starting points.
Not because anyone pushed them there. Because once they saw their images, they wanted more of them. I tell every client: you might go in thinking you only want the smallest collection. Just know you probably won't want more than two images from it.
The questions I hear most often before women book their Baltimore boudoir session, answered honestly, without the fluff.
You don't have to feel ready. You don't have to lose the weight first. You don't have to have done anything like this before. You just have to be a little more curious than you are scared.
That's enough to start.
