DC Boudoir Photography · Sound Familiar?

Most women searching for a DC boudoir photographer aren't looking for photos. They're looking for permission.

"I'll do it when I lose the weight."
"I don't know how to be sexy."
"I wish I'd done this before kids."
"Sure, it works for other women..."
"I just want to feel like myself again."

Those are the exact words I've heard hundreds of times in my DC boudoir photography studio. Every single one of those women left saying, "I didn't know I could look like that."

Nicole Griffin Photography is a private DC boudoir studio serving Washington DC and the surrounding area. Every session is by appointment only. Fully guided, fully yours.

In their own words

She walked in unsure.
She left undeniable.

DC Boudoir Photography · A Private Experience

A private experience,
designed for you.

Washington DC women are driven, accomplished, and used to showing up polished for everyone else. You curate your image carefully, at work, online, in every room you walk into.

But somewhere in the middle of all of that, the way you see yourself privately stopped matching the woman the world sees. This DC boudoir photography session is for her. The one who has earned this, who is ready to stop waiting until she's a smaller size or a less busy season, and who deserves to see herself the way the people who love her already do.

Your session takes place in a private Baltimore studio, by appointment only, with no other clients present. Your images are yours. They are never shared without your expressed written consent, not on social media, not on this website, nowhere.

What you experience here, and what you take home, belongs entirely to you.

The finished product

This is what you
take home with you.

Your images don't live on a hard drive you forget about. They become heirloom artwork, albums you hold, wall art you see every day, a reminder of who you are on the days you forget. Watch how a signature album comes together.

If you're thinking about it, there's usually a deeper reason. It's rarely just about the photos. Most of the women who come to my DC boudoir studio walk in nervous — genuinely unsure if this is going to work for them — and leave seeing themselves completely differently. Not because I did something magic, but because most of us have never had someone show us ourselves through a lens that actually sees us.

The thing I hear most at the end of a reveal is "why did I wait so long?" I've heard it hundreds of times. I've never had a single client walk out saying it wasn't worth it. Not one. I say that not to sell you on anything — I say it because it keeps being true, and I think you deserve to know that before you talk yourself out of it.

Nervous is normal. I've had multiple boudoir sessions myself and I still get nervous — how naked do you want me to be, can I actually do this, I've got this roll I'm not sure about. And I do this for a living. So if you're nervous, you're not broken. You're human.

What I can tell you is this: most of my clients come in very timid, and somewhere around 30 minutes into the session I can physically see it shift. Shoulders go back. Head comes up. They start moving into poses themselves before I even direct them. By the time we get to the reveal, I've had women start crying because they've never seen that version of themselves before. You don't have to show up confident. That's part of what we build together.

Yes. Especially if you don't feel confident. I've had other photographers tell clients they weren't ready because they weren't already confident. I think that's completely backwards. You're not booking a boudoir session because you love your body. You're booking it because you want to.

I'm not going to tell you a boudoir session is a magic pill. It's not going to flip a switch and give you all the self confidence in the world overnight. But it is one of the most powerful tools I've seen work in the toolkit — a moment where you're forced to look at yourself and realize that the voice in your head has been lying to you. You don't have to feel ready. You just have to be a little more curious than you are scared.

All of them. My clients are a size 0 and a size 32 and everything in between. Different ages, different ethnicities, different backgrounds, different relationships with their bodies. Some come in wanting to be as naked as the day they were born. Some come in saying "I have body parts I'm not sure about" — and that's exactly where we start. I will challenge the way you look at your body and hopefully the way you see yourself when we're done.

Boudoir is not reserved for one type of woman. If you've ever thought "sure, it works for other women, but not me" — that's the exact person I built this studio for. I've heard that before. More than once. And I've been right every single time.

Look at the work and ask yourself how you feel. Not whether it's technically perfect — whether the women look comfortable. Whether they look like themselves. Whether you can see the photographer's relationship with them in the images. Stiff, overly posed work usually means the client never relaxed, which means something about the environment wasn't working.

Then look at how they communicate before the session. Do you feel like a number or like a person? A DC boudoir photographer who does a real consultation, who asks about you specifically and builds the session around your comfort level, is worth far more than one who just hands you a questionnaire and shows up on shoot day. The right fit should make you feel excited and a little nervous — not just nervous.

Extremely. Anyone I've ever posted on Instagram or Facebook, I got their permission first. If you don't give it, nobody else knows. Not your family, not your coworkers, not your partner if you don't want them to. Many of my DC boudoir clients keep their images completely to themselves and that choice is always respected without question.

The studio is private, appointment-only, with no other clients ever present. You arrive, you exhale, and for the next 90 minutes it is entirely about you. What you experience in that studio and what you take home belongs completely to you.

DC boudoir photography investments vary depending on the photographer and what's included. At Nicole Griffin Photography, the session fee is $550. That covers professional hair and makeup, posing direction from start to finish, and your 90-minute guided photography session. Your images are sold separately and selected at a same-day reveal — you never commit to a collection before you see what you look like.

Most of my clients invest between $3,000 and $5,000 in their images and heirloom artwork. Collections start at $1,300. Flexible payment plans and buy-now-pay-later options through Afterpay and Klarna are available. Women spend thousands on vacations they forget about. This is something you'll look at for the rest of your life.

You are the standard.
